Q: When is the soccer season?
A: The soccer year is June 1st - May 31st (exact dates may vary slightly from year to year). It is composed of the Fall and Spring season. Some ages/teams will have a Winter season also. When you sign your child up for one of our teams, they are registered on that team for the entire year, June 1 - May 31. June and July are usually off months from training, teams are being formed during this time.
Q: When can I register my child for an FC Las Vegas Juniors Team?
A: Registration for the next June 1- May 31 season opens in April. While you can register your child at any time during the year for one of our teams, it is highly recommended you register them during the Initial Registration that opens in April to assure there is space available. Many of our teams will fill to capacity and will not have openings for mid season registrations.
Q: Are there tryouts for U5-U10 Teams?
A: No, there are no tryouts for Under 5 - Under 10 players. All U5-U10 players wishing to play with a FC Las Vegas team will be placed on a team as long as space is available on the roster.
Q: How many times a week do teams train?
A: U5 and U6 teams train 1 day a week for approximately 1 hour. U7 and U10 teams train 2 days a week for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Occasionally teams will train more or less depending on what the coach feels is necessary for their team.
Q: Will my child be on the same team as last year?
A: Yes, your child will remain on the same team as they have been on unless there is a reason for a change. No change would be made without communication with the parent first.
Q: I’m not sure if my child wants to play both the Fall and Spring Season, can I sign up for one season only?
A: Yes, players are able to play in one season if they choose. If you choose to play in only one season you will still have the one time registration fee and then you will only pay the monthly training fees for the months of that season.
Q: How many players are on a team?
A: We usually like to keep our teams between 10 and 14 players.
Q: What’s included in the registration fee?
A: FCLV Juniors Registration Fee includes: Club Welcome Kit (Club T-Shirt, Club wristband, Club decal)), Club Administrative Fees, Club Facilities/Clubhouse (For Parent and Player Meetings), Team Equipment, Discounted Membership Rates for our Club Programs and Discounted entry to our Club Tournaments.
Q: What’s included in the monthly training fees?
A: FCLV Juniors Monthly Training fees include: Professional Coach, Structured Curriculum designed specifically to each age, Athlete Education Classes, Coaches Education Classes, Club Certified Athletic Trainer on Staff and Skills clinics offered on both sides of town.
Q: How long do we use the uniforms for?
A: FC Las Vegas uses a 2-year cycle on uniforms in an effort to help keep costs down for our members. The Fall of every even numbered year FCLV will go to a new uniform style that all players will need to purchase and use for the next two years. Returning players wishing to order specific additional or replacement items will be able to do so.
