FCLV Wins 2 State Cups, 1 Finalist
May 18th, 2009

Congratulations to all the FCLV teams that competed in the 2009 State Cup Tournament. This year FCLV is proud to have 2 State Cup Champions, the U19 Girls Mundial Team, and the U17 Girls Mundial Team. The club also had one Finalist the U16 Girls Mundial Team. We wish the teams the best of luck in the upcoming regional tournament June 15th-21st in Lancaster CA.

FCLV Alumni, Katie Palmer Best 1500m in the Nation
April 15th, 2009

Sophomore Katie Palmer earned her third Mountain West Conference Athlete of the Week honor on Tuesday for her performance at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz.

The Boulder City, Nev., native took first in the 1,500-meter premiere event on Saturday with a nation-best time of 4:16.44.

Courvoisier Commits to TCU

Maddy Courvoiser from the FC Las Vegas 92' Mundial Girls Team has committed to play college soccer at TCU starting in the Fall of 2010. Maddy has been a member of FC Las Vegas since U14 and in that time has been a team leader on and off of the field. Maddy will join two other FC Las Vegas Alumni from the the 89' team Cheryl Martin and Tara Magdose who both will be seniors when Maddy is a freshman.

FCLV Teams to Compete at College Showcase

The FC Las Vegas 94's, 93's and 92's are traveling to Southern California this weekend to compete in the 2009 Toyota College Classic. The teams will be competing against several of the top teams in the country on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Congratulations to FCLV 99 Girls Mundial team. The team played very well this week-end against out of town teams. FCLV reached the final after defeating Larocha(UT), and lost in the finals to New Mexico Clash.

FCLV 92's Mundial, Premier Invitational Champions
March 30th, 2009
Congratulations to the FCLV 92 Mundial team for winning the Premier Invitational held this past weekend. The team went undefeated winning all 4 games. A very strong team for the club continues to get even better. Well done!.

 
FCLV 91's Mundial, Premier Invitational Champions
March 30th, 2009
The FCLV 91 Team won the 2009 Premier Invitational U-18 1st Division Championship this weekend. They won all four games in the tournament by scoring 8 goal and giving up 0. The final game against Sparta United Select from Utah ended regulation in a 0-0 tie. The FCLV team won the Shootout 5-4 with each of the FCLV shooters scoring.

 
FCLV Alumni, Katie Palmer Earns All American Honors

BYU sophomore Katie Palmer (FCLV 89's) Earned All American Honors at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Trackk & Feild Championships at Texas A&M University. Katie Finished in 4th Place in the 800M race, and was a member of the Distance Medely Team that finished 3rd. Click here for more.

 
Revo Commits to Dixie State College

Rebecca Revo from the FC Las Vegas 91' Mundial Team, has committed to play soccer and to attend school next year at Dixie State College in St. George Utah. She will join FCLV Alumni Members, Alayna Canada and Rebecca D'occhio on the Red Storm squad.

 
LAS VEGAS COLLEGE COACHES CLINIC - 2009
March 12th, 2009
The Las Vegas College Coaches Clinic, hosted by FC Las Vegas (formerly Rebels Select Soccer Club), will be on Thursday, March 12 2009, 4:30- 7 PM, at the UNLV soccer fields in Las Vegas, Nevada. The clinic will be open to all female players U14 through U19 eligibility. There is a pre-registration but it is not required. The cost of the clinic will be $ 40 pre-registered and $ 50 to register at the field. For more information click here.

 
FCLV U14 Mundial Captures Title
February 24th, 2009
February 24th, 2009. FC Las Vegas 95 Mundial Girls take home the Gold Division Championship in the Arizona Arsenal Challenge Tournament by winning 4 straight games, 3-0, 2-0, 2-0, and 4-1. Along with the teams hard work this year they have added a couple of new players, Brandy Sanchez and Shauna Lee who have been a great asset to the team. Goalkeeper Emily Casale maintained a shut out thoughout the event until the last 20 seconds of the final game.

 
FCLV Combined team wins Silver State
February 22nd, 2009
A combination of FCLV girls from 4 teams won the 2009 Silver State Tournament. Over the weekend the girls scored 6 goals while only allowed 1. They won a very physical Semi Final game 2-0 over Willamette Utd Fulham from Oregon. Then later in the afternoon beat the Utah Force 92's 1-0 to claim the championship.

February 9th, 2009, Lauren Dudley (FCLV 90's) Amanda Forrester (FCLV 89's) Cheryl Martin (FCLV 89's) and Katie Palmer (FCLV 89's) Have been selected to the Fall 2008 Academic All-Mountain West Conference Team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team. FCLV ’99 Boys Red Team wins 3v3 Regionals
January 28th, 2009
Congratulations to members of the FCLV ’99 Boys Red Team for winning the 3v3 Live Western Regional Championships. They played against teams from Washington, Oklahoma and Colorado. The FCLV ’99 Boys Red Team qualified to play in the 3v3 Live National Championships in Austin, TX. WAY TO GO BOYS!

 
FCLV U14 Girls Copa Win in Arizona
January 24th, 2009
The U14 Girls Copa Team wins The CCV Shoot for the Stars Tournament in Phoenix. They won 4 games and lost 0, winning 5-2 against AYSO 310 The Crew, 5-0 against CCV Stars 95 Red, 2-0 against Yavapie Sting and won the final 2-1 against Verde Valley Vendetta. It was a solid performace by all the member of the team.

 
Subu & Reyes commit to New Mexico State University

Veronica Subu and Taylor Reyes have both verbally committed to play soccer next year at New Mexico State University, They will join former UNLV Women's Assistant Coach Michael Needham as he tries to build his team into a contender in the very tough Western Athletic Conference.

 
'92/'93 combo team reaches Vegas Cup Final
January 19th, 2009
A combined group of ladies from FCLV U-16’s & U-17’s, along with Veronica Subu (’91 Mundial), competed against older teams from Cal North, Cal South & Arizona in Vegas Cup. They went undefeated in the prelims - winning two matches and tying two before meeting a good U-18 Arizona Rush team in the Final.

 
Alex Holland Commits to ULM

Alex Holland from the State Cup Champion, FC Las Vegas 92' Mundial Team has committed to The University of Louisiana, Monroe Women's Soccer Team. In doing so she is the second athlete from her team to commit this year. She will join three former FC Las Vegas players and High School teammates, Tiffany Bombard, Samantha Cashman, and Maddy Ocon.

FCLV U12 Girls Mundial Win Mayors Cup
October 26th, 2008

The FCLV U12 Girls defeat the Surrey FC Pegasus U 12 girls from Canada. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. Penalty kicks decided the Championships with the FCLV Girls outscoring the team from Canada 4-3. This marks the teams first Tournament Victory of the Season

FCLV Skills Specific Training Sessions

FC Las Vegas announces its 2009 Skill Specific Training Sessions to begin in November. The series of technical training sessions have been designed by FCLV to improve specific technical skills that make up the foundation of a successful soccer player. FCLV 91's & 92's Play for College Coaches Tonight

The FC Las Vegas 91' Girls Mundial will play the FC Las Vegas 92' Girls Mundial tonight at Kellogg Zaher #2. The game will kick off at 7:00 pm. The game will be attended by college coaches from the Mountain West Conference. Please come out tonight and show your support for two of the best teams in the state.

The U17 team will be playing at 5 PM with the U16 team & the U18 team playing at the conculsion of the first match. All games will be played on the UNLV Men’s training field.

There will be college coaches at both games to scout and recruit. The colleges that will be attending will be: UNLV, Washington State, Idaho State, Southern Utah University and Dixie State.

For the first time in UNLV school history, both of its soccer teams are ranked regionally in the same week, as the Rebel women's team is eighth in this week's NSCAA West Region, while the UNLV men's squad is 10th in the NSCAA Far West Region. University of Lousiana-Monore's, Cashman, Receives Honor

Samantha Cashman, FCLV 89's Alumni Member, was named to the Mafiaoza's/Belmont Women's Soccer Invitational All-Tournament Team. In the tournament Samantha started both games and played all 180 minutes for the Warhawks. Full Story

 

TCU's Cheryl Martin, Named Defensive Player of The Week

Cheryl Martin, an alumni member from the FCLV 89s' was honored this week as the Defensive Player of the week by the Mountain West Conference. She anchored the back line for TCU who shut out both Arizona State and Northern Arizona this past weekend. TCU is currently Ranked 8th in the NSCAA weekly college rankings for the Central Region. FC Las Vegas Director of Youth, Alan Cox named assistant women's soccer coach at UNLV
August 8th, 2008
Alan Cox has been named assistant women's soccer coach at UNLV, while Jim Wain will serve as a volunteer assistant coach, head coach Katherine Mertz announced on Wednesday. Cox takes over for Brittany Oliviera, who left UNLV in the spring for other opportunities.

"I am very excited to have Alan and Jim on board," said Mertz. "They will bring with them excitement and a great knowledge of the game, and we're looking forward to them helping us with the team."

2008 Vegas Cup Labor Day Jamboree

FC Las Vegas invites you to submit an application for the 2008 Vegas Cup Labor Day Jamboree. The event will be held in Las Vegas, NV on Labor Day Weekend, August 30-September 1, 2008.

The 2008 Vegas Cup Labor Day Jamboree will consists of a U7-U10 Friendly Division and a U9-U14 Tournament Division. The Under 7-Under 10 Friendly Division offers younger teams an opportunity to play some games in a more relaxed, less competitive environment. No scores or records are kept for the Friendly Division. The Under 9-Under 14 Tournament Division is for those more competitive older teams wishing to play in a tournament format competition.

FCLV Players Represent Nevada At Region IV ODP Camp
July 12th, 2008
Eleven FCLV players represent Nevada in the Olympic Development Program. The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program is for high-level players. This program identifies and develops youth players throughout the country to represent their state association, region and the United States in soccer competition.

They represent some of the best players not only in the state but also the Region and the Nation. They had the opportunity to train and play with the best players in one's age group and develop as a player. They also were exposed to college, regional and national team coaches.

Emily Murzinski (93 Mundial Girls), Dinah Kaufman (94 Mundial Girls) and Kilee Kircher (94 Mundial Girls) played with the Nevada 93 Team. Kaylynn Burgess (92 Mundial Girls), Courtney Beckwith (92 Mundial Girls) and Alyssa Campagna (92 Mundial Girls) played with the Nevada 92 Team. Hailey Hatherly (95 Mundial Girls) played with the Nevada 94 Team. Next week the 91 age group will hold an invite only camp and Alex Holland (92 Mundial Girls) was selected to come into camp for the Region. Ashley Beckwith (95 Mundial Girls) and Tessa Sanchez (95 Mundial Girls) will play with the Nevada 95 Team in 2 weeks.

Congratulations to all of the players that have and will represent Nevada and FCLV so well in some very tough competition.

FCLV will be offering U11 and above GK training during the summer on the below dates. All GK training will be at Spotted Leaf from 9:00am to 10:30am. There will be a $25 cost for the entire summer schedule, you can come to as many or as little as you want for a total of $25. Regular Season Club GK training will start in mid August.

Regionals Kicks Off

US Youth Socer Far West Regionals started today.  FCLV 92 (U16) girls and the FCLV 90 (U18) girls competed today.  The FCLV 89  (U19) team was unable to participate in the Regional event.  The seven day tournament involves 16 age groups, more than 8,000 players, coaches, administrators and families.  All games were played at the Waipi’o Peninsula Soccer Complex.  Regional Champions will advance to the USYS National Championship next onth in Arkansas.  Pictures and summary of the games are here. FCLV U16 Mundial Team Competes in Colorado

coloradoThe FCLV 92 Mundial team played in the Colorado Showcase May 22-26 in Denver, CO at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids.  ODP State teams, State Cup Finalists and Regional Elite Division teams played 4 exhibition-only format games over the four days.  There were over 100 college coaches in attendance and it was  an excellent opportunity for all players to be seen by college coaches from all over the country and from all collegiate divisions.  The girls played well throughout the weekend individually showing well for the college scouts and  solidified their place as one of the best teams in the region.  For complete information on the tournament please go to www.coloradoshowcase.org.
FCLV Shows Well at Jammers Memorial Day Tournament, 1 Championship and 2 Finalists
May 30th, 2008

JammersCongratulations to the 96 Mundial Girls on their 2008 Jammers Memorial Day Tournament Championship. They have now won 4 tournament championships on the year. Their Memorial Day Championship came with wins over Heat 96 Orange, Heat 97 Orange and Neusport Gold.

2 other FCLV teams had successful weekends making it to the finals of the Jammers Memmorial Day Tournament. The 96 Copa Girls and the 95 Mundial girls both battled to second place finishes. The 96 Copa Girls played great soccer all weekend, coming up just short of the championship with their close game against Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club in the finals. The 95 Mundial Girls entered the championship game after a great comeback victory against Las Vegas Premier Black.


FCLV Captures 3 Nevada State Cup Championships

After the 92 Mundial Girls won the championship last weekend in Reno, the 89 Mundial Girls and 90 Mundial Girls both battled to Nevada State Championships this weekend. Along with 3 Nevada State Championships, FC Las Vegas also had 2 teams finish 3rd in the event, the 94 Mundial Girls and the 93 Mundial Girls.  Congratulations and best of luck to the teams travelling to Hawaii for the Regional Competition. 92 Mundial Girls Capture State Cup Championship

May 11, 2008

Congratulations to the 92 Mundial Girls on their 2008 Nevada State Cup Championship.  After a 13-0 win in the Semi-Finals against Carson Valley, the girls battled Neusport Green to a 1-0 victory.  The lone goal of the final match was scored by Bianca Norman.  Congrats and good luck at Regionals.

96 Mundial Girls Make It 4 In A Row With LV Premier Invitational Championship!

With their recent LV Premier Invitational Championship, the 96 Mundial Girls have now made it to the finals in their last 4 tournaments, taking home the championship in 3 of them.  The girls had 1 tie and 3 wins over all out of town teams, allowing only 2 goals and scoring an impressive 10 goals during the event.  Congrats on a great job ladies!

Schaefer Commits to Penn State

94 Mundial Girls Show Well at Nomads Coaches Showcase

The 94 Mundial Girls team competed in the prestigious Nomads Coaches Showcase this past weekend.  The team advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Modesto Ajax United Elite from California and ties with Bangu Tsunami White from Minnesota and SC Del Sol White from Arizona.  The quarterfinal loss came against one of the top teams from Northern California, Juventus Victory.  Congrats on a good tournament ladies and coaches!

96 Mundial Girls Bring Home California Spring Cup Championship

Congratulations to the 96 Mundial girls on their California Spring Cup Championship.  The team went 4-0 on the weekend, scoring 12 goals and allowing 0.  The final win came against Downtown White by a score of 4-0.  The 96 Mundial Girls have now made it to the finals of their last three tournaments they've played in, taking the championship on two of those.  Keep up the good work ladies! Congratulations to the 97 Mundial Girls on their Championship at the Four Corners Cup hosted by the Arizona Rush.  The girls were undefeated on the weekend, with 3 wins and a tie.  They outscored their opponents 7-2. 

The 95 Mundial Girls and 93 Mundial Girls both made it to the Semi-Finals of the tournament.  The 95 Mundial girls lost a heartbreaker in pk's, while the 93 Mundial girls lost a close 1-0 battle.

Great job to all the teams that competed in the Four Corners Cup!

  

FCLV Players Receive High School Soccer Honors

Centennial goalkeeper Jenna Riddle (FCLV '90 Girls) recorded four shutouts in four postseason games to lead her team to the Southern Nevada girls soccer championship. For her efforts, Riddle was named the Northwest Division Player of the Year by league coaches.

Ali Schaefer (FCLV '90 Girls) of Southern Nevada runner-up Green Valley and Coronado's Amber Burgess shared the Southeast Division Player of the Year Award.

Centennial and Green Valley each placed four players on the All-Southern Nevada team.  Alayna Canada (FCLV '90 Girls), Riley Bassett (FCLV '90 Girls) and Amanda Gilbert (FCLV '90 Girls) joined Riddle on the All-Southern Nevada squad, and Schaefer, Kayla Varner, Nicole Williams and Anna Guida (FCLV '90 Girls)represented Green Valley.

FCLV '90 Girls Capture Silver State Invitational Championship, '93's Make It To Semifinals

Congratulations to the '90 Girls for winning the 2008 Silver State Invitational.  The girls went undefeated in the tournament, beating Dosveedanya in the finals by a score of 2-0 to win the championship.

7 FC Las Vegas Players Compete in the Southern Nevada Girls High School Championship Game

With a reschedule due to high winds last week, 7 FC Las Vegas players stepped on the field Tuesday night to compete for the Southern Nevada Girls High School Soccer Championship.  The game was played between the Sunrise Division Champions, Green Valley, and the Sunset Division Champions, Centennial.  Three FCLV players are on Green Valley's squad: Ali Schaefer, Anna Guida and Hailey Garrison.  Centennial has four FCLV players: Jenna Riddle, Mandy Gilbert, Alayna Canada and Riley Bassett.  All players are from our '90 Girls Team.

Centennial beat Green Valley 1-0 to take home the Southern Nevada Championship.  Jenna Riddle (FCLV 90's) posted her fourth postseason shutout of the year.  The lone goal came in the 26th minute when Riley Bassett (FCLV 90's) chipped a pass over Green Valley's defense to an attacking teammate.

University of Arizona Signs Seven Players

TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona soccer coach Dan Tobias, who in his first five seasons has led the Wildcats to a Pacific-10 Conference Championship and a berth in the Sweet Sixteen, and his staff have signed seven players to National Letters of Intent for the 2008 season. 

The class includes two players each from Arizona, midfielder Jessica Culver and forward Brittany Cole, and California, forward Renae Cuellar and defender Brooke Harrison, and one each from Texas, goalkeeper Ashley Jett, Nevada, goalkeeper Jenna Riddle, and Colorado, defender Amy Steiner. FCLV College Signings: Hailey Garrison, Anna Guida and Mandy Gilbert- Rebels Sign Nine For 2008

LAS VEGAS - Nine players have signed national letters of intent to play women's soccer for UNLV starting in the fall of 2008, head coach Katherine Mertz announced on Wednesday. UNLV signed a total of three players from the Las Vegas area, four from California and one each from Colorado and Michigan.

Of the Las Vegas recruits, the first are a pair of teammates from Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nev. Hailey Garrison, a 5-3 midfielder, has started the past three seasons for the Gators, and is a two-time All-Southern Nevada First Team selection. She's also twice earned Best Team Player honors, as well as best defensive player for Green Valley her sophomore season. Garrison also has played for six years on the Southern Nevada ODP team and the past four years for the Rebels Select, two-time state champions.

The second player from Green Valley High to sign with the Rebels is Adrianna Guida. A 5-4 defender, Guida has started the past three seasons, and has earned all-state and all-city honors the past two years. She's also been named to the all-state academic team on both her first two seasons on the team as well. Along with Garrison, Guida helped Green Valley to two state championship runner-up finishes and two conference championships, and also was Garrison's teammate on the Southern Nevada ODP squad, from 2004-06.  (Full Story)

FCLV College Signings:  Riley Bassett and Stacey Brinkman - Southern Utah Soccer Adds Eight for the 2008 Campaign

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Feb. 8 - Eight student-athletes have given their commitment to play for Southern Utah University women's soccer following signing day on Wednesday. The list includes five from the state of Utah, two from Nevada and one from Idaho.

“This is an exceptional class for SUU Soccer," head coach Brian Stock said of the class as a whole.  "They bring a diverse talent base to our team and are all tremendous athletes.  We will have some dangerous new weapons in the squad and have met the needs that opened up by graduation.

Southern Utah will have three additions to the midfield in Michelle Judd (Washington, Utah/Pine View HS), Riley Bassett (Las Vegas, Nev./Centennial HS) and Elyse Alexander (Riverton, Utah/Riverton HS).

Stacey Brinkman (Las Vegas, Nev./Arbor View HS) and Kendel Murray (Provo, Utah/Timpview HS) will bring versatility with experience in the midfield and attacking third.  (Full Story)

Lauren Dudley lives in Las Vegas, Nevada...her parents are from the Alberta province in Canada. She has trained in both the Canadian provincial program and the US ODP. According to our research and depending on how she views it...Lauren could be the first Canadian to play for the Utes...More importantly, regardless of where she is from, Lauren is an outstanding defender.

Lauren plays center back. And she has all the qualities in her game that a center back needs...she is tough on the ground, great in the air, a good communicator, composed, and good on the ball.

Lauren has played for the Rebels Soccer Club and was coached for several years by former Ute, Amanda Schmutz. She is also a terrific student and will be a great addition.

ULM Soccer Stockpiles Talent in 2008 Class – Adds Seven Club and Prep Standouts for Upcoming Season

MONROE, La. --- The ULM women's soccer team and head coach Stacy Lamb announced Wednesday afternoon the addition of seven standout athletes from across the country to the program for the upcoming season. The class for the Warhawks includes some of the country's elite players from National Championship Club teams and prominent high school programs.

  

The Warhawks class includes forward Lindsey Tubbs, midfielders Kelly Browne, Elissa Fralicks and Emily LyBarger, and defenders Stacey Carmack, Madeline Ocon and Brittni Shriver. Between the seven student athletes, ULM brings in individuals who have combined for 10 state, regional or club championships during their prep careers.  (Full Story)

  

FCLV Players Continue To Make College Commitments, Gilbert To Join The UNLV Rebels

Mandy Mandy Gilbert from the '90 Girls team has committed to play soccer and attend school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  Mandy will join current teammates Anna Guida and Hailey Garrison who have also committed to UNLV.  With former club members Amanda Forrester and Kristen Shim, FCLV will now have 5 players at UNLV. Congratulations and best of luck Mandy!

   

96 Mundial Girls Bring Home Silver State Invitational Championship

Playing in their second championship game in back-to-back weekends, the 96 Mundial Girls (U12) captured the championship of the Silver State Invitational.  The girls went 4-0 on the weekend with preliminary wins coming against Banat Storm 96 White from Arizona, 96 Extreme White from Arizona and Las Vegas Premier 96 East.  Facing Longhorns 96 Orange in the final, the girls battled back from a 0-1 halftime deficit to win the game 2-1.  Congratulations girls!

95 Mundial Boys Advance to Championship Game of Silver State Invitational

Congratulations to the 95 Mundial Boys (U13) for their second place finish in the Silver State Invitational.  The boys had a great weekend with preliminary wins against MSC United and Arizona Rush 95 Swoosh, both from Arizona.  The championship game was a heartbreaker, hitting the cossbar in the first minute of the game and creating several very good scoring opportunities in the final minutes of play, the boys lost to Oceanside Breakers from California.  Congratulations boys on a great tournament!

98 Mundial Boys and 96 Mundial Girls Battle to Finals of 2008 Vegas Cup January 22, 2008

Congratulations to the 98 Mundial Boys (U10) and the 96 Mundial Girls (U12) for their second place finishes in the 2008 Vegas Cup. 

The 98 Mundial Boys went 3-1 in bracket play and lost in the finals to West Coast United.  Their wins came against Neusport 98 Gold, Vegas Vengeance and Scorpions.

The 96 Mundial Girls went 2-0-1 in bracket play, drawing with DLVSC and beating Celtic Storm and  Irvine Strikers.  They then beat Utah Avalanche in pk's in the semi finals, eventually losing to LV Premier in the finals. 

Congrats to both teams on a great weekend!

   

Dudley Invited to ODP U17/U19 Girls Inter-Regional Camp

Lauren Dudley from the '90 Girls Team has been invited to join the Region IV Olympic Development Program Team for the 2008 US Youth Soccer ODP Girls U17/U19 Camp Ventura, California.  The event will take place at Ventura College from January 2 - January 5 and will match the regions against each other for 3 games.  For results on the matches click here.
