FAR WEST REGIONALS KICKOFF - Day One

US Youth Socer Far West Regionals started today.  FCLV 92(U16) girls and 9FCLV 90 (U18) girls competed today.  The FCLV 89  (U19) team was unable to participate in the Regional event.  The seven day tournament involves 16 age groups, more than 8,000 players, coahes and administrators and families.  All gmaes were played at the Waipi’o Peninsula Soccer Complex.  Regional Champions will advance to the USYS National Championship next onth in Arkansas.  For more info go to the tournament web-site at www.regioniv.com.

FAR WEST REGIONALS DAY TWO

US Youth Socer Far West Regionals continued today. In the 2nd day of games both the U16 and U18 girls teams competed in beautiful sunny weather in Hawaii. 

The  FCLV 92(U16) girls competed against THUSC Neor from Oregon.  It was a great game that both teams battled for.  Unfortunately the first 4 minutes of the 2nd half the FCLV team had a lull, making 2 mistakes resulting in a 2 goal defecit.  Although we created many chances to equalize the Oregon team was able to keep us at bay resulting in a 0-2 loss. 

The FCLV 90 (U18) girls competed today as well.  After bouncing back from a loss yesterday they competed for a 1-1 tie against Leahi 90 Premier from the host state of Hawaii.  The goal came when Lauren Dudley volleyed a left footed strike off of a cross from the right side assist from Ashley Romeo. 

Both teams will have a good chance to advance into the quarter finals with wins on Wednesday.  Good luck to both teams.
